playing dress up

Something about the combination of the glitzy dress, the slightly oversized dress shirt, the gaudy earrings, and the cowboy boots makes me feel like I am 8 years old again and  trying on my mother’s clothes… and what a sweet, nostalgic feeling that is. I actually bought the dress at The Salvation Army for a costume party but I sort of love how obscenely glittery it is and how it looks paired with more casual pieces. The boots I found at a Buffalo Exchange in Brooklyn, NY and have been wearing religiously ever since.

I also shared this look on LOOKBOOK.nu, a site featuring a “collective fashion conciousness,” (a.k.a. a constant source of fashion inspiration!). If you like this outfit you can go to LOOKBOOK.nu and hype it! Either way I highly reccomend you check the site out, it’s fantastic! http://lookbook.nu/look/3410293-playing-dress-up

American Eagle top; Skirt, Shoes, and Bag all from Salvation Army

I am in love with the crop top and high-waisted bottoms combo; it’s so subtly sexy. I had my eye on this crop top from American Eagle and I was able to use my credit card points to get a “free” $50.00 gift card that I happily used to acquire it. Who ever said credit cards couldn’t be a good thing 😉
